  • Allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
  • Patients taking MAOIs must carefully avoid taking St. John's wort due to serious adverse effects of combining the two.
  • Depression can be a serious, even life-threatening, condition; therefore, it is imperative that depressed patients using St. John's wort are carefully monitored. If you are taking any other anti-depressants like Prozac, check with your physician before taking St. John's wort.
  • Do not use St. John's wort if you: are pregnant or breast-feeding, are trying to get pregnant, have attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), have bipolar disorder, have schizophrenia, have Alzheimer's disease, have major depression, are scheduled for surgery in the next two weeks.
